instrumental de origen desconocido. Algunos los llaman criminales dementes.
Otros los describen como un recurso muy necesario para las estáticas y aburridas
reglas sociales de una sociedad controlada por los gobiernos.
Skurkarna is an all
instrumental "Crime-Rock" happening from parts unknown. Some call
them criminally insane. Others describe them as a much needed remedy for the
dull and static social rules of a goverment controlled society.

álbum de Skurkarnas de larga duración A Crimewave Escapade (2012), doce vibrantes
historias de distorsión, trémolo y delincuencia que hará que cualquier fuerza

album, "A Crimewave Escapade"; twelve twangy tales of distorsion,
tremolo and delinquency that will make any law enforcement shudder in dispair.

La música de
Skurkarn, suena al Surf y el Garage de los 60 y 70, pero con la fuerza de los nuevos tiempos y
una gran dosis de rabia. ¿Cuáles son vuestras influencias musicales?
Tenemos muchas influencias musicales en la banda – casi todos
desde la música surf y garage al punk primitivo, el post-rock y cosas electrónicas
raras. Pero sobre todo estamos influenciados por el "cine negro" (“film
noir”) antiguo y en blanco y negro– Películas de gansters de los años 40, 50 y
60. Creo que nuestro sonido proviene de la mezcla de nuestras influencias
musicales combinadas con la actitud sucia y agresiva de las películas que nos
gustan.
The music of Skurkarna sound
like the Surf and Garage of 60s and 70s,
but with the strong of the new times and a large dose of rage. So, what are
your musical influences?
We have a lot of different musical influences in this band - everything
from surf and garage music to primitive punk, post-rock and weird electronic
stuff. But mostly we are influenced by old black & white “film
noir”-crime-movies from the 40's, 50's and 60's. I think our sound comes from
the mixture of our musical influences combined with the dirty and aggressive
attitude from the movies that we like.
¿Por qué habéis
titulado “A Crimewave Escapade” a vuestro último LP? ¿Qué vamos a encontrar en
este CD diferente a los EPs anteriores?
La diferencia entre nuestro último LP y nuestro viejo EP es
principalmente la calidad de sonido. Nos gusta mucho las grabaciones en lo-fi
"sala de ensayo", pero en este LP hemos dedicado más tiempo al
proceso de grabación para obtener un sonido más rico. Decidimos titular as
disco "A Crimewave Escapade" porque las doce canciones del álbum se
centran en 12 diferentes tipos de delitos. Es una 12 canciones de aventuras de
dudosa moral capturado en vinilo negro.
Why do you have titled “A
Crimewave Escapade” to your last LP? What's we will be finding in this CD different
from your EPs previously released?
The difference between our latest LP and our older EP's is mainly the sound quality. We really like
lo-fi “rehearsal room”-recordings, but on this LP we put more time into the
recording process to get a richer sound. We decided to name the LP “A Crimewave
Escapade” because all the twelve songs on the album focus on 12 different kinds
of crime. It's a 12 song escapade in bad moral captured in black vinyl.
¿Es esta la primera
vez que actuáis en concierto en España? ¿Qué vais a ofrecer en vivo, y qué
esperáis del público español en vuestros conciertos?
Esta será nuestra primera vez en España, ¡y estamos ansiosos!
Estamos con muchas ganas de conocer a la gente que venga a vernos tocar y les
vamos a dar un espectáculo que nunca han visto antes. Hay un montón de fans del
surf y del rock n' roll instrumental en España, y esperamos que disfrute con
nuestro de nuestro Crime-Rock instrumental.

¿Hay alguna sorpresa
o planes alternativos para vuestra gira de 2013?, ¿algo que podáis
anticiparnos? ¿Para cuándo un nuevo
disco?
Tenemos algunas cosas especiales planeadas para esta gira,
pero lo estamos manteniendo en secreto … no queremos arruinar la sorpresa. Tendremos
un nuevo singl de 7" que saldrá pronto en Stencil Trash Records y Dem
Bones Records, y estamos en contacto con algunos sellos sobre la edición de un

Do you have any surprise or any
plans alternative to this tour for 2013?
Can you anticipate anything to us? When a new album?
We have some special things planned for this tour, but we are keeping it
a secret.. we don't want to ruin the surprise. We will have a new 7” single out soon on Stencil
Trash Records and Dem Bones Records, and we are in contact with a few labels
about releasing a new LP later this year. So stay tuned and keep checking

¿Pensáis que el mundo digital va a acabar con el mundo de la música tal y como lo conocemos hoy en día? ¿Cuál es el futuro
No lo creo. La música es constante y creo que lo único que
va a seguir cambiando el formato de la música. Las descargas digitales es algo
muy bueno, si quieres llegar a mucha gente, y los discos de vinilo son lo ideal
si se quiere tener en formato físico la música. Creo que el vinilo siempre estará
por aquí, y quizá el CD morirá. ¡Viva e vinilo!
Do you think the digital world
will end with music as we know it today? What do you think is the future of
music?
I don't think so. Music is constant and I think that the only thing that
will continue to change is the format of music. Digital downloads is a great
thing if you want to reach a big crowd, and vinyl records are the perfect thing
if you want to physically collect music. I think that vinyl will always be
around, and maybe CD's will die. Viva la vinyl!
¿Cuál es vuestro
mejor recuerdo en el mundo de la música?
Escuchar a The Misfits, por primera vez y quedar
influenciado directamente. LA mejor sensación del mundo es encontrar una nueva
banda favorita que te haga feliz, enfadado, triste, salvaje, loco y cachondo al
mismo tiempo.
What is your best memory about
music?
Hearing The Misfits for the first time and getting influenced straight
away. The best feeling in the world is finding a new favorite band that makes
you happy, angry, sad, wild, crazy and horny at the same time.
¿Qué pensáis de la
situación económica actual en Europa y en el mundo en general?
Es una mierda. Cuando la buena gente con grandes habilidades
están sin trabajo y no tienen dinero - algo está mal en el mundo.
What do you think of the
current economic situation in Europe , and in
the world in general?
It sucks. When good people with great abilities go unemployed and have
no money – something is wrong with the world.
¿Creéis que el Rock
ha muerto? ¿Qué pensáis de aquellos que dicen que si lo ha hecho?
El verdadero Rock & Roll es como extraño mostruo-vampiro-mutante,
no puede morir porque es un no-muerto. Sólo mutará en otras formas y
subgéneros. Mientras haya rabia habrá energía, y siempre que haya energía, ¡habrá
rock n 'roll!
Do you think the Rock is dead?
What do you think of those who say that it has done?
Real rock n' roll is like a weird mutant-vampire-monster; it can't die
because it's undead. It will only mutate into other forms and sub-genres. As
long as there is anger there is energy, and as long as there is energy there
will always be rock n' roll!
